George Goes To Japan

    Editorial, Illustration, Motion graphics

Lien Foundation is a philanthropic organisation that champions eldercare, early childhood and water sanitation. Under the creative direction of Couple, we crafted an unconventional, 111-page illustrated annual report in the form of a graphic novel for the Lien Foundation Annual Report 2014-15.

George is a personification of the foundation based on late founder ‘Lien Ying Chow’. Set in Japan, the stories are findings and opinions of actual experiences and places visited by our client throughout the years, which we compact into a year’s experience.

Annual Report

The book is divided into four seasons and encompasses over 25 chapters and stories. With a limited print run, the book was gifted to partners, friends and collaborators of Lien Foundation and Couple.

Besides the physical book, we also made an interactive version of the annual report that included 33 short looping animated gifs and easter eggs with objects from the season dividers. The website attracted over 14,000 international visitors within a short period, receiving positive feedback and press.
